Is Based on a True Story on Amazon?
Kaley Cuoco has a new series you don’t want to miss. Based on a True Story is now available to stream in full, but which platform do you need to go to?
If you’re looking for a quirky crime drama, Based on a True Story is going to be the show for you. No, it isn’t based on some sort of true event. Instead, it’s all about the true crime podcast craze, and how one woman decides she can make money fast with a podcast about a true crime event in her city.
Cuoco is Ava, a pregnant woman who witnesses a murder that is done by a serial killer in her city. She thinks she knows who the killer is, and she decides she has the perfect way to out him. She’ll create a podcast and then invite him on as a guest to force him to come clean.
All eight episodes are now available to stream online. The question is where you’re going to watch it.
Is Based on a True Story on Prime Video?
There is some bad news to start. You won’t be able to stream the series on Prime Video. This is a Peacock Original Series.
You’ll need a Peacock subscription to watch it. It’s unlikely that the series will head to Prime Video with this in mind. Right now, there’s no need for NBCUniversal and Amazon to share content.
Is Based on a True Story on Amazon Video?
There is another way to watch shows and movies on Amazon. It’s all about Amazon Instant Video, where you can buy or rent the releases on Digital. Is this going to be possible with the Peacock show?
It’s highly unlikely. While we have seen some Peacock shows get a DVD release, we don’t tend to see a Digital release. This is because of how it takes people away from the subscription service.
Based on a True Story is only available to stream on Peacock.
