What happened to Rose in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series finale?

We knew Rose would die young, but did that happen in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series finale? Did she get to see Midge perform?

The flashforwards made it clear that Rose Weissman would die young. We just didn’t know how or exactly when. That being said, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series finale did treat us to some Rose antics.

It all started with Rose and Abe looking after their grandchildren. Abe tells Rose that the two have faked being sick and now they’re calling Rose and Abe names. Of course, Rose, who is busy planning her big dinner party that she’s hosting for her matchmaking service, isn’t happy about that and wants Midge to discipline the children.

This is important for later.

Does Rose see Midge perform in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series finale?

When Midge gets the opportunity to perform on the Gordon Ford Show, Midge calls everyone. She can’t get through to her mother, though. Apparently, Rose has been on the phone for the last four hours.

That’s not the case. Abe gets home to see Rose still planning the seating for the party. Rose also makes it clear that she isn’t going to the show because Midge hasn’t asked her to go—she asked Abe, who asked her. Rose refuses to accept that there is something wrong with the phone until she sees that it is off the hook.

Once on the hook, everyone calls. Including the writers for the show.

Rose and Abe rush to get ready. They have to take a bus because there’s a shift change for all the taxis, and that bus ride was “harrowing,” according to Rose. In the end, Rose does get to see her daughter perform, and that’s the last we see of her in the series finale.
