Citadel Season 2 is not coming to Prime Video in May 2023

One thing is clear: Citadel was not a limited series. We need Citadel Season 2 already, but there is some bad news. It’s not coming to Prime Video yet.

Let’s start this post off with calming fears. We’re not spoiling the Season 1 finale. That drops tonight on Prime Video, and by the end of it, you’re going to want a second season.

Now, for a bit of bad news. Amazon has not yet officially confirmed the renewal of the series. There are rumors that a second season is happening and production has moved to California for the tax breaks, but it’s not been made official just yet.

We are expecting a second season, though. Well, we would if this was a normal year. The writers strike is putting a lot into question, and that includes a renewal for the spy drama.

When will Citadel Season 2 come to Prime Video?

So, eyes are on when we could see the second season. It’s definitely not coming yet, which isn’t surprising considering the first season has only just wrapped things up.

Usually, we would say to give a show like this 14 to 18 months between seasons. This year is very different. The writers are on strike and there’s a chance that actors and some others are going on strike next month. There is a lot going on in the world of entertainment that is affecting everything.

This is bad news for Citadel as it pushes everything behind. Hopefully, Amazon doesn’t decide that the strike delays are a reason to cancel the show instead of giving it more time to tell the story. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this, but personally, I would love to see more of the story—and definitely more of Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead.
