Will Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story come to DVD and Blu-ray?

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is now available on Netflix to stream in full. Will you be able to add it to your DVD collection?

Do you remember when people thought DVDs would become obsolete because of streaming platforms? Now because there are so many streamers and we can’t guarantee the content will even stay on there (looking at you HBO Max!), we need DVD and Blu-ray releases all the more. We want to know if our favorite shows will be available on DVD to join our collections.

In the majority of cases, the answer is yet. When it comes to Original Shows for streamers, though, the answer is different. It’s a “probably not.”

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story likely won’t come to DVD and Blu-ray

Queen Charlotte is a Netflix Original Series. With that in mind, we probably won’t see a DVD release. This does make business sense sort of. Netflix wants to make sure people subscribe to the service to watch its original content. Why would people subscribe if they can buy on DVD and Blu-ray?

This does depend on the contracts made at the time of picking up the series. There are times that the contracts have a DVD release in there. This is more common with UK production studios and Warner Bros, which is why the likes of The Crown, The Last Kingdom, and Fuller House have gone to DVD and Blu-ray.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story probably won’t get a DVD release. It’s a shame, because people will still subscribe to Netflix even if they get the series on DVD. DVDs are great for when the internet goes down but the power is still on!

What about a Digital release? This is even more unlikely. It definitely doesn’t make sense for a streaming platform to release a show on Digital.
