Chevalier is one of the new movies out in theaters this weekend. When will you be able to own this movie on DVD and Blu-ray?
Are you ready for another movie based on a true story? If you’re a fan of music and composers, then you’ll certainly want to head to theaters for Chevalier.
The movie follows Joseph Bologne, the illegitimate son of a French plantation owner and an African slave. Joseph proves to be one of the greatest violinists and composers at the time, meaning that he rises up the ranks of French society and even has a run in with Marie Antoinette.
In fact, Joseph and Marie Antoinette had an affair, but that didn’t last. That’s probably a good thing for him considering her ending! The biographical drama details Joseph’s rise up the ranks and the racism he faced at the time.
Chevalier DVD release date predictions
This is certainly a movie you’ll want to add to your DVD collection once you can. Of course, there isn’t a DVD release date just yet. The movie is only out in theaters. It’s a SearchLight Pictures movie, so we’ll look at other movies from the same production studio to get an idea as to when we can expect this one.
For this, we’re looking at Empire of Light and Nightmare Alley. The former took about two and a half months to get the DVD treatment, while it took about three months for the latter. For this movie, we’re potentially looking at something similar to Empire of Light.
That would suggest a DVD release date of around Tuesday, June 27 or Tuesday, July 4.
What about a Digital release? This is sure to be a little sooner. The Digital releases have been about three weeks before the DVD release, so we’re looking at sometime around the beginning of June for Chevalier.
Chevalier is currently out in theaters.
