Agreus found himself a captive in the Carnival Row Season 2 finale. What happened to him in the end? Was he killed to send a message to Imogen?
Caution: This post contains major spoilers from the Carnival Row Season 2 finale.
Leonora made it very clear that she wasn’t messing around. She gets how love works, so it wasn’t surprising to see her take Agreus hostage when it looked like Imogen wasn’t going to do the task Leonora wanted.
The big question was whether it would end with Agreus’s death. Would we lose any of the major players by the end of the series finale?
What happened to Agreus in the Carnival Row Season 2 finale?
During the penultimate episode, we saw Imogen receive a package. It was one of Agreus’s horns, and Imogen was warned that if she didn’t do what Leonora wanted, the next “gift” would be Agreus’s head.
Well, Imogen wasn’t going to let that happen. At the same time, it was clear that Agreus could end up being killed anyway. He wasn’t going to just hang around and wait for Leonora to do something else. He managed to get out of the chains he was held in.
As the battle in The Row came to an end, Agreus found Leonora and held her a gunpoint. However, he didn’t want to kill her. Instead, he called for the cops to come and arrest her. Would this give Leonora a chance to kill him?
No, she decided to kill herself instead. That was with the warning that she’d planted the seed of revolution into the fae. It would only be a matter of time before more fae would turn out like her.
With that, we got a time jump. Agreus’s horn had been mended, although it’s clear that he is concerned about how it looks. At least his horn can be repaired, even if there is a small flaw. A lot of Pix lost their wings, and that will be it for them. Imogen made it clear that she liked Agreus even with his flaws.
The two end up together, stepping outside of what can be assumed is their shared home to a crowd of people. They all stand together as lights are turned on. There is some peace in The Burgue for now.
Carnival Row is now available in full on Prime Video.
