Is the band really playing their instruments in Daisy Jones and the Six?
Daisy Jones and the Six tells the story of how a band reached its highest heights and then disappeared. We know the music was written for the series and the leads are really singing, but what about the other band members? Is the band really playing the instruments?
When there’s a series that involves a band, sometimes the producers will have others perform the music. Then there are times that the actors will sing themselves. What about Daisy Jones and the Six?
Well, we know that Riley Keough and Sam Claflin are really singing in the series. The rest of the band? This is where the show could have had them look like they were performing. The sessions in the recording studio could have been gone by a real band.
Is the band performing in Daisy Jones and the Six?
While the band itself is fictional, the actors acted like they were in a band off-screen. That is to say they practiced the songs together and individually. Each one of them is playing their own instruments.
Suki Waterhouse, who plays Karen on the series, had some experience playing the keyboard. The others had to learn from scratch. The pandemic may have helped a little with that, as Variety Fair shared that Sam Claflin took Zoom guitar lessons while in England homeschooling and looking after his children during lockdown.
The actors even got into the recording studio as the band. Their album “Aurora,” which is the name of the album in the show, will be released for people to buy. The top song “Regret Me” will be on that album along with 10 other songs. It’s just as if it was released back in the 1970s. Just don’t expect any big tours from this band. The actual band is still not a real thing.
Daisy Jones and the Six releases bulks of episodes on Fridays on Prime Video.
