DVD releases happening this week: Empire of Light and more
There are seven DVD releases happening this week, and you won’t want to miss out. Here’s everything you can add to your DVD collection on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Are you ready for more movies to come to DVD and Blu-ray? How about TV shows? Of course, you are. There are seven releases happening this week, with Empire of Light arguably one of the biggest of the lot.
Olivia Colman and Micheal Ward star in Empire of Light, a movie set in the 1980s. It focuses on a struggling movie theater that is the heart of the story. Colman plays the manager, who is struggling with depression. As she trains a young new employee, they connect over life and events in ways neither of them expected.
The Inspection, Station Eleven, and more
How about another drama? Jeremy Pope and Gabrielle Union star in The Inspection, which focuses on the story of a young gay Black man who just wants to make something of his life. The odds are against him, especially when he’s rejected by his mother, but he decides to prove a point by joining the Marines.
He pushed forward in life, a life that is not built to accept him. It’s a story many of us face, but resilience is important. Don’t give up your dreams because of what society deems “right.”
If you love post-apocalyptic stories, you’ll want to check out Station Eleven. This is a HBO Max series, but it’s coming to DVD this wek. It follows a group of nomads who happen to be actors. All they want is to bring joy and laughter to a world that is stuck in survival mode.
