Somebody I Used to Know is the big release on Amazon this weekend. Will you be able to own the Alison Brie movie on DVD and Blu-ray?

All eyes are on the latest Amazon release. Somebody I Used to Know has a premise we’re all familiar with. Brie stars as Ally, a workaholic TV producer who suffers a major career setback. Out of fear, she heads back to her hometown and starts to reminisce about her past love, Sean.

It turns out that Sean has moved on and married someone else. Will things change with Ally in town? Honestly, I hope not as Sean made his choice and we don’t need Ally being the Other Woman. Let’s have an uplifting storyline of someone who can reminisce but keep moving forward in her life.

Is Somebody I Used to Know coming to DVD and Blu-ray?

This is an Amazon Original movie. You can stream it on Prime Video, and that’s likely where it will stay. It doesn’t look like Amazon is planning on any of these weird tax write-offs that other streamers have done by removing original content.

What about if you don’t want to keep your Amazon Prime membership going, though? You’ll want to add movies you love to your DVD collection, and Somebody I Used to Know could be one of those movies.

Well, there is a little bit of bad news. It’s unlikely that we’ll see this movie head to DVD and Blu-ray. There are a few Amazon movies that have gone to DVD in the past, like Cold War, but not everything. Beautiful Boy and Brittany Runs a Marathon are still exclusive to Amazon’s streaming platform. This makes the most sense for streaming companies.
