Back in October 2022, The Peripheral starring Chloë Grace Moretz premiered on Prime Video. We’ve waited a long time for any Season 2 news.

When streaming platforms and networks take a long time to make a decision about the future of a show, we worry about it. Does this mean it’s been quietly canceled? That’s certainly the case when we go months without any sort of word.

Amazon has made it pretty clear that it’s not necessarily going to renew shows quickly. Just look at The Terminal List, which dropped on the streamer in July 2022 but wasn’t renewed until January 2023. Now it’s time for The Peripheral to get similar treatment.

The Peripheral Season 2 is officially happening at Prime Video

TVLine brought us the good news about this twist sci-fi series. The Peripheral is coming back for a second season. Things are about to get a lot more complicated for Flynne Fisher, who found herself in multiple life or death situations.

The first season followed Flynne as she realized the gaming world that she was in wasn’t all that fictional. It was set in the future, and Flynne had to figure out what was going on to prevent the future from happening.

By the end of the first season, Flynne is able to save the 2032 timeline. The question is whether it’s all really that rosy on the other side. Isn’t it like all revolutions and time changes? Is there a plan for the future? Is the alternate outcome all that much better for the rest of the population? That’s something we get to find out in the second season.

It’s not that clear when Season 2 will come out. Writing work will need to start before anything else, so we could be looking at some time in 2024.
