Lord of the Rings Season 2 is not coming in January 2023

The Lord of the Rings Season 2 is going to happen, but not just yet. It’s not arriving this month, but will we get it in 2023 at all?

If you were hoping to see the next part of the journeys in The Rings of Power, there’s some bad news. We won’t get new episodes at all in January 2023. We double-checked the list of releases just in case, but this show wasn’t on there.

We didn’t expect that, though. It is very clear from the quality of the graphics that this series is going to take time to bring each season. That could be dangerous, but not with a show as hyped up as Lord of the Rings, right?

When will Lord of the Rings Season 2 come to Prime Video?

Just how long do we need to wait for the new episodes? Is there a chance that we’ll get it in 2023? This is where we bring some bad news.

Lord of the Rings Season 2 likely won’t arrive this year. Back in October 2022, we were warned that we had a long wait ahead of us. There is a chance we’ll need to wait until the second half of 2024 for the episodes.

The first season did take five years from the announcement to the series premiere. It isn’t too surprising then that the second season would take that same time. That’s especially since filming was delayed by the pandemic. Filming is underway right now, but it’s the post-production stage that takes the longest due to the graphics.

The good news is that there were lessons learned during the production of the first season. This could help to reduce the time it takes to get the second season, but we’re still probably looking at 2024.
