The first Harry Potter book moved up the list to reclaim the top spot on the list of most read Amazon books in the first week of 2023.

It took some time, but Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling moved back into the top spot on the list of most read Amazon books. It may not be long until another book claims that, but it goes to show just how popular these books still are.

The other books in the series were a big mixed. The Order of the Phoenix dropped out of the Top 3, while The Goblet of Fire dropped out of the Top 5. They both remain in the Top 10 with a few of the other books.

Lessons in Chemistry up, one new addition

The Top 3 did see more change than just the Harry Potter book claiming the top spot. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus gained four spots to get into second place. This pushed Fairy Tale by Stephen King down two spots to just hold onto a Top 3 spot.

Further down the list, The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose gained six spots and Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver gained three spots. Both books got into the Top 10 last week.

There was one new addition to the list. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin entered in 17th place. We could see that gain on the list this week. It’s one we’ll keep a close eye on.
