When is Avatar: The Way of the Water on DVD and Blu-ray?

After years of waiting, Avatar 2 is finally available to watch in theaters. When can you add Avatar: The Way of the Water to your DVD collection?

You likely headed straight to theaters to watch the second Avatar movie. Why would you? It’s been a long time coming, and the trailer certainly made it clear the graphics were still just as good if not better. Now you want to add the movie to your DVD collection.

The second movie picks up with Jake Sully forced to protect his family on the planet Pandora from a returning threat from his own planet. Colonel Quaritch wants to take the water from the planet, which plays an important role in the mythology and culture of Pandora and the Na’vi people.

When will Avatar: The Way of the Water come to DVD and Blu-ray?

Of course, with Avatar 2 only just coming out in theaters, there isn’t a DVD release date just yet. We don’t expect to see a release date for a few more weeks at least, but that doesn’t stop us from looking at a potential date.

This is a 20th Century Studios film, and we can look at other films from the same studio in 2022. For the same of this post, we’re looking at Death on the Nile and Amsterdam. Both movies took about two months to head to DVD and Blu-ray, so we could see this movie come out as early as Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023.

With how big this movie is set to be, we may have to wait a little longer. There is a chance that 20th Century Studios will start going back to the 90-day exclusivity window in theaters this year.

What about the Digital release? The other movies came out on Digital a week to three weeks before the DVD release. If there is a Feb. 14 DVD release, we could see the Digital release as early as within the next couple of weeks.
