The Wheel of Time Season 2 is not coming in January 2023

We’re expecting The Wheel of Time Season 2 at some point in 2023. It’s not going to arrive in January, though. When could we see it premiere?

Eyes are on when our favorite fantasy shows will return. We have a return date for Carnival Row Season 2 finally, so now eyes are on The Wheel of Time Season 2.

There is some bad news. The season won’t arrive in January 2023. That shouldn’t be too surprising, though. This show will get a big announcement for its release date, similar to Hunters and Carnival Row. On top of that, Hunters is the big show coming in January, and Prime Video will want to space out its content.

When will The Wheel of Time Season 2 come to Prime Video?

Amazon hasn’t yet confirmed a release date. According to CBR, we may need to wait until later in 2023 than we initially predicted. Based on the way most Amazon shows release, we did think an early 2023 release date was possible. However, this show is graphics-heavy, and that’s going to make post-production take longer.

Jeff Rudkins shared that fans can expect the season at some point in 2023, but “early 2023” is a little too optimistic with the post-production work that still needs to happen. So, we’re looking at mid-2023 with that in mind.

This will give Carnival Row Season 2 time to air on Prime Video, and it could be why the show is getting a weekly release format for its final season. Amazon will want to space out its fantasy content and avoid overlapping but will also want to avoid too many big gaps in between fantasy shows to keep the momentum going.

There are 10 episodes in Carnival Row Season 2 releasing weekly. That puts the finale at around April 21. Could we see The Wheel of Time Season 2 at the end of April or beginning of May? It certainly seems plausible.
