The Peripheral quickly became a must-watch show on Prime Video. Now we need more. Will The Peripheral Season 2 happen on Prime Video?

The Peripheral Season 1 has come to an end. The finale did answer some of our questions, but it left us with a major cliffhanger. Now we need to see what comes next, and that means looking at whether there’s going to be a second season or not.

We would love more, but does Amazon agree with us? What are the chances of The Peripheral Season 2 happening, and if it does, when could we expect to see it?

Is The Peripheral Season 2 happening on Prime Video?

As of right now, Amazon has not officially renewed The Peripheral Season 2. It’s also not canceled the show, so this is one of those times when no news is good news.

What are the chances of it being renewed? We think pretty good, and it looks like we could see the second season happen. According to Production Weekly, Season 2 is in production. That was in early September, which was ahead of the release of the first season.

This wouldn’t be the first time Amazon had quietly renewed a series. However, this doesn’t mean we’ll definitely see the second season. There have been times shows have been in production according to Production Weekly only to end up canceled because the uptake wasn’t as good as a streamer expected to be.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on Amazon’s decision for the show. It’s been a hard year with cancellations, but the reviews for The Peripheral have been positive and there has been a lot of chatter online about it. With some hope, that will mean the views have been good each week and we’ll see a renewal happen.

If it does, we’re looking at it arriving sometime next year at the earliest. We could have to wait until 2024, though.
