The Santa Clauses is now available to stream on Disney+. Is this a series you can add to your Christmas movie DVD collection?

Santa can’t be Santa forever. We saw when The Santa Clause franchise started that the mantel is passed on. During that first movie, we saw that Scott became Santa by accident, but now it’s time to find out how the role should have been passed on.

Scott is turning 65 and it’s time to retire. He needs to find someone else to take on the role for him, but who will that be?

On top of that, his whole family needs to get ready for life south of the Pole. It’s going to be a huge shift in perspective and pace. They all need to prepare.

When is The Santa Clauses coming to DVD and Blu-ray?

The series is currently streaming on Disney+. While the movies in the franchise went to theaters first, this series hasn’t. Well, that’s not surprising considering it is a TV series.

Disney has been pretty clear with plans for the release of its shows. The originals haven’t headed to DVD and Blu-ray. Disney made it very clear that it had no plans to bring original shows to DVD. There have been plenty of chances with the likes of The Mandalorian and WandaVision. This is despite a fanbase that would love to add the shows to their DVD collections.

The same applies to the Digital release. It doesn’t make sense for streaming shows to release the shows on Digital. This takes people away from the subscription services.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things. Disney could always change its mind at some point.
