It is definitely not surprising to see Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin move up the list of most read Amazon books last week.

While there was very little change to the Top 10 last week, there was a bit of movement and some new books to the second half of the list. The upward movement of Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin is the least surprising move.

House of the Dragon continues to perform well on HBO and HBO Max. With the series being based on a book, it’s not surprising that fans are flocking to the book. They may be first-time readers or readers for the second or third time. They want to know or remember events that are going to happen.

There will be some reading along with the series. They want to see how the show has adapted storylines. One of the things about Fire and Blood is that it doesn’t offer too many details as it’s a story written by Maesters. So, the show fills in some of the gaps.

Two new books on the list

There were two new additions to the list. The first isn’t all too surprising. The new Cormoran Strike novel is out, and of course, fans are going to pick it up immediately. The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith made it in 13th place, and we’re sure to see it move up the list. With this and Fire & Blood, we did see a couple of Harry Potter books get knocked down.

The other new addition was The Do-Over by T.L. Swan. Romance novels don’t tend to stay on the list for too long, but we’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
