The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is on Prime Video tonight
Fans around the world are ready for the epic adventure that will be The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The first episodes drop tonight.
It’s time for an epic adventure. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will arrive on Prime Video tonight. Well, the first two episodes, that is.
This is a series that’s getting a weekly release. It doesn’t make sense to drop all episodes of such an expensive show at once. Amazon wants to keep people talking about this for a while, and the weekly release format is the way to do that.
So, the first two episodes are available tonight at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. This is a definite time. Unlike other releases where we have to keep an eye out on the night, Amazon has made it clear when we can expect each episode of this series. From next week, the time will change to 12 a.m. ET on Fridays/9 p.m. PT on Thursdays.
What to expect in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The series is set centuries before The Lord of the Rings movies. That means no Frodo or Aragon. In fact, the whole of Middle Earth will look very different as there isn’t the break between the different creatures in the land.
There is a mysterious man in the promos. Could this be Gandalf? That’s not clear just yet, but we may just find out in the first two episodes.
The first two episodes will set the tone for the rest of the series. While we’re only getting the first season right now, there are more to come. Amazon renewed The Lord of the Rings series last year and filming has been underway for a while. We’re expecting a third season, but Amazon is likely waiting to see what the reception is like first. However, since The Wheel of Time scored a third season, we don’t think there’s much to worry about with The Rings of Power.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres tonight on Prime Video.
