It’s the last Tuesday of August, and there are a few DVD releases happening. Get ready for Blue Bloods Season 12, 1883: A Yellowstone Story, and more.

We are into a quiet week for DVD releases. Very few big movies are coming to DVD and Blu-ray, but this week is about the TV shows.

The biggest release for crime drama fans is Blue Bloods Season 12. At one point, there were concerns that the season would be the last, but it was renewed for a 13th season. The concern is purely due to how long it’s been on the air now. CBS will want to make room for new shows, but also won’t want to lose good performers.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the season with plenty of time before Season 13 premieres. That’s not until October, so you’ve got all month to enjoy this release.

1883, The Phantom of the Open, and more

Another TV series you’ll want to grab is 1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story. The series picks up in 1883, as the series title suggests. It is a limited series that tells the story of how things in Yellowstone got started. The timing is perfect with Yellowstone renewed and another prequel series coming out.

When it comes to the movies, The Phantom of the Open is the one to look out for. This is a great comedy starring Mark Rylance, Sally Hawkins, and Rhys Ifans. It follows Maurice Flitcroft, an eccentric and outrageous man who wants to become a champion folder. Now if only he knew how to play the game. He decides he can play in the 1976 British Open Gold Championship Qualifying by bending the rules.
