With the long wait for Carnival Row Season 2, there’s one concern for all fans. Does this mean it will be cancelled by Prime Video?
While some shows, like The Boys, can survive a long break between seasons, they’re more the exception to the norm. Most shows can’t handle a long wait. Just look at how The Wilds was cancelled after two seasons, and that was despite a responsive social media platform.
We’ve waited more than three years for Carnival Row Season 2. The initial wait was understandable. Filming was put on hold during the pandemic and it took a while to return. Yet, filming wrapped in September 2021, and we’re still waiting a year later. Does this mean the series will be cancelled?
Carnival Row Season 2 is likely the end
According to Midgard Times, the second season is likely to be the last. The publication talked to a few people in Prague and inside the series, and they all shared the same thing. Sets have been pulled down, and it looks like the plan was to just wrap the story with this season.
Was it always planned as a two-season storyline? That’s not clear. It’s possible that during the pandemic, the writers feared that the story wouldn’t get a chance to end, so took it upon themselves to craft an ending. After all, apparently, the season finale isn’t just going to end on a cliffhanger. We’ll get the answers about the Victorian period-style story we need.
There is a chance that Prime Video is going to wait until October to bring the fantasy series. This allows it to spread out the fantasy shows, which have turned out to be among the most popular on Prime Video.
