It’s all about TV shows when it comes to the DVD releases this week. Look out for NCIS: Los Angeles Season 13, Chicago Fire Season 10, and more.

August is a big month for TV shows to be released on DVD and Blu-ray. The production studios are getting ready for the new seasons. With most shows arriving in September of each year, the DVD releases of previous seasons need to happen in August or early September.

This sort of release gives fans plenty of time to buy the DVDs and play catch-up on episodes they may have missed. There’s also time to watch any bonus features released. It’s not surprising that this week is all about TV shows.

NCIS: Los Angeles, Chicago Fire, and more

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 13 is likely the biggest release. Or one of them, at least. This season includes the 300th episode of the series. It also includes an episode that was written by Eric Christian Olsen and directed by Daniela Ruah.

The season sees some cast changes, but there isn’t much of a change to the feel of the show. The focus is on figuring out the mission Hetty was on back in the ’70s and ’80s as Callen figures out who he really is.

Chicago Fire Season 10 is the other big release. This season includes the 200th episode, which is a major episode for one particular character. Yes, we have to say goodbye to Casey during the episode as he makes a major life decision for the sake of people from his past. We also see Severide and Kidd focus on their wedding, but do they eventually walk down the aisle.

Another release to look out for is Naomi. Sadly, the CW series was cancelled after just one season, but it is still worth owning on DVD or Blu-ray.
