What is A League of Their Own about?
Not to be confused with the movie of the same name, A League of Their Own is heading to Prime Video at the end of the week. What is the series about?
If you loved the ’90s movie A League of Their Own, you’ll certainly want to check out the TV series that’s coming to Prime Video at the end of the week. The series is based on the Penny Marshall movie, but it’s not a continuation or an exact copy.
The series is described as a comedy-drama. That’s a great mixture of humor with some important storylines to follow for each of the characters. And there are going to be some great characters to keep an eye on. The good news is all episodes drop at once so it will feel like one long movie.
A League of Their Own synopsis
So, what is the series going to be about? Like the movie, we’re delving into a time of war. World War II is happening, and America is seeing a few changes. That includes a push for women to prove they can also play baseball.
A group of women travel the country to play ball. We’ll delve into their lives on the road as they face the ever-changing landscape of the country. There is a look at the racism, sexism, and other social issues of the time, while all these women want to do is a sport they’re good at. A League of Their Own is more than just another sports series.
Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson co-created the series, with Jacobson playing Carson Shaw as well. The series also stars Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, Kelly McCormack, and Priscilla Delgado.
A League of Their Own is on Prime Video on Friday, Aug. 12.
