Most sold Amazon books last week: 3 new books enter

Unlike other countries such as Belgium, sales of books are not deemed to be essential, despite studies indicating more people turned to reading in the first lockdown earlier this year, and outlets have had to close their doors until December 2. Bookshop.org, which was launched in the United States earlier this year, is now available in Britain and in just a few days has generated £60,000 for the retailers taking part in its "click and collect" service. Only three new books entered the list of most sold Amazon books last week. There was plenty of change elsewhere on the list.

The list of most sold Amazon books sees a lot of change most weeks. The week of July 24 to July 30 was nothing different. While there were only three new additions, there was plenty of change of the books between themselves.

The Top 5 did remain the same. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens remains at the top of the list, which isn’t surprising considering the movie is now out in theaters. Colleen Hoover’s four books kept their spots from the previous week.

The changes started with Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score gaining a spot on the list to get into sixth place.

Portrait of an Unknown Woman enters, The It Girl moves up

Portrait of an Unknown Woman by Daniel Silva was the highest new addition during the week. It entered in seventh place, which meant The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid lost two places instead of just one.

Shattered by James Patterson & James O. Born and Fractured Freedom by Shain Rose were the other two new additions. They entered in 13th and 14th place respectively.

While that happened, we did see Ruth Ware’s The It Girl move up two spots. It still misses out on a Top 10 place, but there’s a chance it can move up there this week.

The Summer I Turned Pretty and its sequels by Jenny Han did see drops. The first book lost three places and fell out of the Top 10. It’s Not Summer Without You lost four places but just holds onto a Top 15 place. The third book, We’ll Always Have Summer, also lost four places to land in 16th place.
