DVD releases happening this week: White Elephant and more
There isn’t much happening in the way of DVD releases this week. White Elephant is likely the biggest title to check out on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
The first Tuesday in August is certainly looking to be quieter than previous weeks. There are only three movies heading to DVD and Blu-ray this week. The rest of August is shaping up to be worth waiting for, though. We’ve got the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, NCIS Season 19, and Naomi Season 1 dropping on DVD and Blu-ray throughout the month.
What about this week, though? What’s worth buying? This is going to depend on your interests in terms of genre.
White Elephant, Cow, and more
The biggest releases is likely White Elephant starring Bruce Willis and John Malcovich. There won’t be many more Willis movies coming out, so this is something to consider just for that reason alone.
It’s a pretty standard action thriller. Gabriel Tancredi is an ex-Marine and move enforcer who makes a choice of rescuing a young police officer instead of killing her. That breaks the mob code of conduct, and he finds himself on the run from those hired to kill him (and her!).
Cow is also coming to DVD and Blu-ray this week. The title gives everything away. It is about a cow. It’s actually a movie that follows the life of a dairy cow to give us insight into what life is like. This is certainly going to be an emotional journey for many.
The third and final release is titled Charm City Kings. It follows Mouse, who is desperate to get into The Midnight Clique, an infamous dirt bike group in Baltimore. Midnight’s leader Blax decides to take Mouse under his wing, but now Mouse realizes what it really means to be part of the group.
