Summer is a great time for heartfelt movies. That’s certainly the case this summer, with John Cho starring in a film that is certainly going to leave everyone in tears.

The movie arrives at the end of the week. While the official release date is Friday, July 15, it’s worth looking out for it on Thursday night. This is a global original, which means we’re likely to see it drop earlier than expected in the United States.

Don’t Make Me Go synopsis

The movie follows John Cho’s Max Park. When he learns that he has a brain tumor, herealizes that he may not have long to live. There is a surgery but it’s a risky one. Does he want to risk the surgery and not have any time with his daughter, or does he want to take her on a road trip to remember?

He chooses the latter, taking her across country to New Orleans for his college reunion. It’s not a trip his daughter wants to really go on, but she accepts it as long as she gets to learn to drive. The two certainly have a road trip worth remembering. Of course, the truth is going to come out along the way, and now Max will need to decide whether he’s going to fight for his life or not.

Max has another reason to head to New Orleans, though. He wants to give his daughter a chance to see her mother to create a bond between them so she has someone to turn to in her darker times.

Don’t Make Me Go is coming to Prime Video on Friday, July 15.
