The fight against Homelander moved to Vought Tower. What happened to Queen Maeve in The Boys Season 3 finale? Here’s everything you need to know.
Caution: There are spoilers from The Boys Season 3 finale in this post.
We always know a Season 3 finale is going to include a death or two of some sort. The Boys season 3 finale wasn’t without some death. It wasn’t Homelander, though. Sadly, that Supe is still out there, and he has the love and attention of someone we’re now scared for.
However, this isn’t about Homelander and Ryan. It’s all about Queen Maeve. During the previous episode, we found out that she was trapped in Vought Tower’s prison with Homelander planning to take her eggs and then kill her. Is that what he did?
Starlight’s truth helped to free Maeve
With Starlight going public about everything, there was a warrant for Vought Tower to find Queen Maeve. That led to Ashley having no choice but to get Maeve out of there. Of course, Maeve was gassed at first, but she woke up on the way to wherever she was being taken to.
That allowed her the chance to escape and get to the group of vigilantes. While they argued over whether they should kill Homelander or stop Soldier Boy, Maeve made it clear that she was on the side of letting Soldier Boy take out Homelander.
Maeve sacrificed herself in The Boys Season 3 finale
However, the fight didn’t quite work out the way anyone expected. While Soldier Boy decided that Homelander needed to die despite being his son, Butcher saw Ryan at Vought Tower. Butcher couldn’t let anything happen to Ryan, so he asked Soldier Boy to stand down. Soldier Boy wouldn’t do that.
A fight between everyone broke out, and it eventually led to Soldier Boy losing control. Just as it looked like he was going to nuke everyone, Queen Maeve made the decision to rush him out of the window. The two fell to the ground, and Soldier Boy detonated in the air.
It looked like it would kill Maeve, but we found out that wasn’t the case at all. MM and the others found Maeve and got her away from the outside of Vought Tower. We then learned that Maeve is now normal and human. She and her girlfriend get the life they’ve always wanted, and they’ll go somewhere off-grid so Homelander can’t find Maeve.
This could be the last we see of Queen Maeve, but it’s in a positive way. She gets to live her life.
