Originally titled Lightyears, Prime Video’s Night Sky brought us a sci-fi story with some beautiful twists and turns along the way. We followed Frank and Irene York, who had a carefully guarded secret. They had a chamber in their garden leading to a deserted planet.

Of course, there were a lot of questions about this chamber and the deserted planet. When a strange man turns up from the planet one day, the Yorks suddenly have more questions about the place they found.

With the way things ended in Season 1, we had a lot of questions still. Prime Video has decided on the fate of the series. Will we get any answers?

Night Sky cancelled by Prime Video

There is some bad news. TVLine reports that Night Sky has been cancelled after just one season. This is a decision from Prime Video and not a decision from the creators. It was never billed as a limited series, and there was hope that more stories would be told about this strange outpost.

It’s not exactly clear why the series has been cancelled. It’s likely due to the viewership. We don’t get to see how well the ratings are for streaming shows, which leads to uncertainty over the success of a show. However, if not enough people binge-watch a show as soon as its released, it can be a worrying sign for the future of the show.

There are still a lot of Prime Video shows on the bubble. The decision to cancel Night Sky has us concerned about The Wilds, Outer Range, and Undone.
