Is The Summer I Turned Pretty renewed for Season 2?
The Summer I Turned Pretty hasn’t even premiered on Prime Video yet, and we’ve already got some great news about its future.
When we learned that The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han would be turned into a TV series, we were more than excited. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was just the perfect adaptation, and now we get to see another trilogy of books. This time, it’s in a TV series format, and that means more time to tell the story.
There are more books to the series. We’re expecting the first season to focus on the first book, but that would mean a second season is needed for another part of the story.
With the way Amazon has been renewing shows lately, we weren’t really expecting news about The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2. Amazon certainly shocked us recently.
The Summer I Turned Pretty renewed for Season 2
Deadline reported the good news. There is going to be a second season of the series. The renewal arrived a week ahead of the series premiere on Prime Video.
This renewal shouldn’t be surprising considering the popularity of the book and the anticipation of the fans. Prime Video would have seen the success for Netflix with the To All the Boys movies and is likely expecting something similar for this series.
When will The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 come to Prime Video?
Now the question is when we’ll get this second season. It’s not going to be for some time. The early renewal offers some hope of a short turnaround time, though. Writing work can already get started.
Outside of the pandemic years, most shows have seen a 14-month break between seasons. We’re expecting something like that for this show, especially since it only took a little more than a year from the show’s announcement to getting the first season.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 1 is coming to Prime Video on Friday, June 17.
