We’re looking out for any sign of when The Wheel of Time Season 2 will come to Prime Video. We know it’s not in June, but are we getting closer to a release date?
The bad news is that we’re not getting to see The Wheel of Time Season 2 in June. That’s not all too surprising. If this show was coming this month, there would have been a lot of noise about it. Just look at the promotion for the first season.
However, there is some great news about the series. This great news could also tell us roughly when we’ll get to see the second season premiere on Prime Video.
When is The Wheel of Time Season 2 coming to Prime Video?
Filming on the second season has officially wrapped. That happened in the middle of May, with the show’s Twitter sharing a great behind-the-scenes tease of things to come. There wasn’t much to take from the tease, except that it looks like there’s a new location.
We do get to see Rand fighting with someone. Well, he’s being thrown around like a ragdoll by someone, and that has to be one of the Aiel, right? The Aiel is a group of fierce warriors in the Aiel Waste (the Three-Fold Land). We know Ayoola Smart will join the series as the Aiel Maiden of the Spear Aviendha, but there may be more of the warriors at some point.
There is a desert landscape in the teaser. This is the new location, and it could be the Aiel Waste, which actually shows up in the fourth book. Of course, there’s a chance some of the future storylines are being pulled forward for the TV series due to the way TV shows work compared to books.
With filming now wrapped, it’s time for post-production. This could mean a 2022 release date is possible, but it’s going to be tight. It usually takes around eight months for post-production on a series like this. However, filming of the first episodes started back in July 2021, so post-production could be partly done by now.
The Wheel of Time is available to stream on Prime Video.
