Is The Staircase on Amazon?

Colin Firth and Toni Colette star in a new series called The Staircase. Will you be able to stream the series on Amazon Prime Video?

There is a lot on TV right now. The Staircase is a new series based on true events. Of course, you want to be able to watch everything in one place, so you’re looking to see if this is another series to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

The series will follow Michael Peterson, a crime novelist who finds himself in his own murder mystery. In this case, he’s the accused. His wife Kathleen is found dead at the bottom of the staircase of their home, and everyone points their fingers at him.

We’ll get to follow the mystery to see whether Michael did it or not. It is based on the 2004 documentary that followed the very real case, so we’re not expecting too many surprises in the answers to the questions, but this is a great dramatized version of the events.

The Staircase is not coming to Prime Video

There is some bad news to get started. The series is not going to head to Prime Video. This includes via Prime Channels.

The Staircase is coming to HBO Max, with episodes airing on Thursdays. HBO Max is not one of the Prime Channel add-ons, so you’ll need to go directly to watch the series.

The Staircase may not come to Amazon Instant Video

What about coming to Digital? This isn’t guaranteed. The series is heading to HBO Max rather than HBO, which suggests that it may not come to Digital. We’ve not seen the likes of Gossip Girl and Peacemaker get a Digital release.

This doesn’t mean it will never happen. However, it doesn’t make sense for HBO Max to release its original programming on Digital, just like we probably won’t see it on DVD and Blu-ray.

The Staircase airs on HBO Max on Thursdays.
