Almost 50 titles are streaming on Prime Video today

The start of a new month brings a big drop of releases. From war movies to kids shows, here’s what’s streaming on Prime Video on Sunday, May 1.

We look forward to the first of the month for a lot of reasons. When it comes to our Prime Video memberships, it’s because of the big drop that happens. There are 47 titles streaming on Prime Video today alone.

This list isn’t designed to get through in one day. That would be impossible. Instead, there’s content to watch throughout the month, and we know there are quieter weeks of the month toward the end.

Independence Day, Taken, Blues Clues, and more

The full list is long and overwhelming. It means we look out for some great new releases coming, and one of those is Independence Day. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve seen it, but this Will Smith movie is one of the best. Sure, Will Smith has a bad rep at the moment—and we’re not getting into that!—but the movie itself is a great take on alien invasion movies.

Need something with Liam Neeson? How about Taken? This is one of his more popular movies, and it’s a great ride with some excellent lines. The first movie of the franchise is the best, and it’s the only one arriving today.

For those who prefer a heartwrenching war movie, look out for Platoon today. This is a movie that is on and off the streaming platforms, and really only sticks around for a month. Watch it as soon as you can.

Finally, a big release is the first season of Blues Clues. This is perfect for the preschoolers in the house. It will also bring a lot of nostalgia for the adults.
