Shrek Forever After

The fourth installment of the Shrek series, Shrek Forever After, continues the story of the lovable ogre and his family and friends.  Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and Antonio Banderas return to reprise their roles in this movie, and Walt Dohrn joins them as a new character, Rumpelstiltskin.

In this movie, Shrek finds himself struggling with the responsibilities of domestic life, longing for the days when he lived in solitude in his swamp. He finds himself being tricked into signing a contract by Rumpelstiltskin that ends up in disaster.

This movie is available with your Prime membership, and the other Shrek movies are available to buy or rent.

Troop Zero

The Amazon Original movie, Troop Zero, is a quirky comedy-drama directed by the British duo of Bert & Bertie. It is inspired by a play titled Christmas and Jubilee Behold The Meteor Shower written by Lucy Alibar, who wrote the screenplay for the film.

A group of misfits join the Birdie Scouts and enter a national competition to win a talent show. The winner’s voices will be included in a Voyager Golden Record, which one young girl believes will be heard by life on other planets, which is a dream of hers. It is a coming-of-age story about acceptance.

This Amazon movie has an amazing cast consisting of Viola Davis, Mckenna Grace, Jim Gaffigan, Mike Epps, Charlie Shotwell, Allison Janney, and Edi Patterson.

Cinderella

The Amazon Original jukebox musical, Cinderella, puts a new spin on an old favorite. This movie mixes pop and rock hits and adds a modern twist to the story of Cinderella, making for a very fun alternative to the original story.

Singer Camila Cabello, in her acting debut, portrays the titular character and is joined by an all-star cast consisting of Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter, Pierce Brosnan, and James Corden.

My Spy

The fun for the whole family spy comedy, My Spy, stars  Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, Parisa Fitz-Henley, and Ken Jeong.

This movie is about a CIA agent JJ (Bautista) who is caught by nine-year-old Sophie (Coleman) when he is spying on her family during a surveillance operation. He agrees to teach her how to be a spy if she will keep quiet about his mission. It becomes a battle of wits when JJ realizes all of his training is no match for an intelligent nine-year-old.

This one is similar to other kid spy movies but it is interesting enough to keep everyone in the family happy.

Milton’s Secret

The movie Milton’s Secret is another one based on a book. This one was written by Eckhart Tolle. The movie stars Donald Sutherland, William Ainscough, Mia Kirshner, Michelle Rodriguez, David Sutcliffe and Ella Ballentine.

Twelve-year-old Milton (Ainscough) struggles as he is constantly anxious due to a bully tormenting him and hearing his parents deal with the stress of their careers and finances. When his grandfather (Sutherland) comes to visit he learns to look at life in a much different way. His grandfather has committed himself to living in the present and has found that is the secret to true happiness.
