Is All the Old Knives coming to DVD and Blu-ray?

All the Old Knives is now available to stream on Prime Video. Will the movie head to DVD and Blu-ray in the future? Here’s what we can work out.

We’ve waited patiently, and now that patience is paying off. All the Old Knives is finally available to stream on Prime Video. With its cast including Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton, there’s no way that you want to skip over this movie.

It is based on the novel of the same name, and focuses on one former CIA agent who is looking into a potential leak from a previous case. That leak cost the lives of more than 100 people on a flight, and the rogue CIA agent may be this veteran’s former lover.

All the Old Knives is not likely coming to DVD and Blu-ray

It’s very unlikely that the movie will be available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray. This is an Amazon Studios production, which means the movie is heading to Prime Video. It doesn’t make sense for Amazon to put the movie on DVD and Blu-ray.

Releasing the movie on DVD would mean people can pay once and watch the movie whenever they want. Without the DVD release, there is always a need to subscribe to Prime Video. It only makes financial sense to keep it on Prime Video exclusively. We’ll also not likely see it arrive on Digital for the same reason.

There are times that this isn’t the case. If the contract with those involved in the creation of the movie states that it will go to DVD, that will happen. This is usually the case for major theatrical releases, which All the Old Knives is not one of them. It’s only a limited release.
