Lord of the Rings is not coming to Prime Video in April 2022

We would all love to see the work put into the Lord of the Rings series. Sadly, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is not coming to Prime Video next month.

There are a few TV shows we’re looking forward to throughout April 2022. We’d love to say that Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was going to be one of them, but that’s not the case. We didn’t even need the full list of April releases on Prime Video to know that this series wouldn’t be on the list.

Of course, that didn’t stop us from hoping for a miracle. We’d love to see this highly-anticipated series already. The great news is we have a light at the end of the tunnel. We know when the show is coming.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power release date on Prime Video

Amazon set the release date last year. It came with a lot of surprise, especially considering we usually don’t get release dates until about a month or two before a show is released. On top of that, we’ve already got the teaser trailer for the series, which, again, is much sooner than we’re used to for a series.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is coming to Prime Video on Friday, Sept. 2. This is going to be a weekly release, and that’s not too surprising. Weekly releases are still successful even if fans would like to get all episodes at once. Just look at the success of Euphoria and Yellowjackets to see how weekly releases are good for shows.

We don’t have many new details since the release of the teaser trailer just yet. That’s not surprising considering there is still five months to go.

What we do know is that the Lord of the Rings series is going to arrive before The Wheel of Time Season 2. However, we could get the whole end of 2022 focused on high fantasy on Prime Video.
