Is The Last Kingdom Season 5 coming to DVD and Blu-ray?

The Last Kingdom Season 5 is the last of the series and is now available to stream on Netflix. Will you be able to add it to your DVD collection?

There are a lot of great Netflix shows we love to watch over and over again. The Last Kingdom is certainly one of them. From the very beginning, all we’ve wanted to know is if Uhtred will finally get Bebbenburg back.

The final season isn’t quite the end of the journey. There is a movie currently in production, which did mean we went into the fifth season not expecting all the answers we needed. That didn’t stop it from being another excellent season.

Now you want to watch it whenever you want. Will you always need a Netflix subscription?

The Last Kingdom Season 5 DVD release date predictions

We’re certainly expecting The Last Kingdom Season 5 to come to DVD and Blu-ray. While this is a Netflix Original Series now, that’s not the way it started. The show was originally a joint production between BBC in the UK and BBC America. Then Netflix picked it up off BBC America during the second season.

It only became a solo Netflix Original during the third season. That means we’ve seen previous seasons make it to DVD and Blu-ray in the past. Once it became a global Netflix Original, it had to keep going to DVD and Blu-ray. The third and fourth seasons got DVD releases.

That means the fifth season should, too. We’re probably looking at around six months before The Last Kingdom Season 5 comes to DVD and Blu-ray. This would match the wait for the fourth season.

What about on Digital? We could see the episodes released on Digital via Amazon Video and other platforms. Previous seasons have, including those that have been global Netflix Originals. We’ll keep an eye on this release.
