Good Omens Season 2 filming finished: When could the season come to Prime Video?

There is some great news for Good Omens fans. Filming has finished on Season 2. Showrunner and director Douglas Mackinnon shared the exciting news on Twitter. The show has filmed in Scotland since late 2021, and we certainly weren’t expecting such a quick wrap.

It is only a six-episode season. That will have a lot to do with the quick wrap. Now we can get ready for the release of the full season.

When will Good Omens Season 2 come to Prime Video?

As of right now, Prime Video hasn’t announced a release date. We don’t even know if the plan is to bring the show in 2022. However, there is a sign that this will happen.

A show like this needs a lot of post-production work. Just think of all the visual effects that were needed for the first season. That amount and more could be needed for this second season. So, we’re looking at post-production taking at least six months for the six episodes. It could take a little longer.

A late 2022 release date is plausible. However, we want to make sure everyone has time to make this show look as amazing as it should. It could be early 2023 that we see Good Omens Season 2.

What is Good Omens Season 2 about?

The first season followed the book by Sir Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman. It’s led to a lot of questions about what a second season be about. After all, the series was originally billed as a limited series.

There have been teases that the second season could follow a second novel that was being penned by the two authors. Prachett’s death put that project on permanent hiatus, although Gaiman says that the introduction of Gabriel was just one of the plots from the second novel introduced in the first season.

Of course, the main idea could be used. Our angel and demon have decided to continue living on Earth. They’ll need to team up for whatever the big threat to their lives will be.
