The Boys is bringing us an animated spin-off at the end of this week. What exactly is The Boys Presents: Diabolical about?

The world of The Boys is expanding. This new animated series is a great treat to help us wait out the rest of the hiatus, and we’re getting some animation that is very similar to that of the original comics. There’s a chance some of the storylines will also be closer to those of the original graphic novels.

Before you jump into the eight-episode series, you’ll want to know a little more about it. More specifically, you’ll want to know what this spin-off is about?

What is The Boys Presents: Diabolical about?

This is a series that is set within the world of The Boys but isn’t necessarily about the characters we’ve come to know and love so far. It’s also not a not a normal eight-episode season that follows one storyline.

This is an anthology series, focusing on multiple characters within the universe already created. There’s an episode focused on Butcher and Hughie, then there’s one about Homelander, and there’s even one about Laser Baby.

Each episode has been written and created by a different mind. The animation styles will differ depending on the preferred animation styles of the creators. And there are some big names involved in this.

The Boys EPs Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogan put together one of the episodes. The after-show host Aisha Tyler has done an episode. Andy Samberg, Awkwafina, and The Boys creator, Garth Ennis, have also done episodes.

We don’t get to know many other details of the series before it arrives. This is one the creators want to be a surprise.
