Lord of the Rings is not coming to Prime Video in March 2022
There are a few Amazon shows we’re looking forward to seeing. Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is one of them, but it’s not arriving yet.
We are more than ready for Lord of the Rings Season 1. The TV series isn’t arriving in March 2022. We didn’t even need the full list of arrivals on the streamer to know that one. That didn’t stop us hoping that there would be some sort of surprise release.
There is already a release date set. Prime Video was kind enough to give us a year’s notice about this release date, and now we’re just waiting for the episodes to drop.
Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power release date on Prime Video
The first season of the new Lord of the Rings series is coming in September 2022. You’ll want to get Sept. 2 in your diary.
Like many other shows right now, this is not going to come as a binge-watch. The first set of episodes will arrive at once and then we’ll get a weekly release. It’s been working very well for Prime Video recently, so the decision to stick to this hybrid release model isn’t surprising.
We do have a few more details about the series. It’s going to be set during the Second Age at the time the rings were formed. We’ll get to see the rise of multiple events previous told in the books and the movies.
The first real teaser trailer for the series dropped during the Super Bowl. It gives us a look at some of the events, including the diverse cast and the epic adventure we’re all about to go on. Just look at the graphics! It’s no wonder we’re having to wait so long for the series, but the wait will be worth it.
Lord of the Rings is coming to Prime Video on Friday, Sept. 2.
