Mrs. Maisel Season 4: What is Midge going to do about her career?
Midge Maisel has to make a decision about her career. She seems to have gained an idea at the end of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4, Episode 2.
After being kicked off Shy Baldwin’s tour, Midge had to figure out what was next for her career. She didn’t want to do any more opening gigs. She wanted the stage to herself as the lead act in a position where she could say what she wanted.
It looked like she was going to tank her career for a while. She did do a guy’s act better than he did, but it’s led to her being kicked out of the club. She’s making more enemies than friends.
That is until the very end of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4, Episode 2.
Midge has a light bulb moment on Mrs. Maisel Season 4
After being arrested (again!), she met a stripper. There she found out the host and in-house comedian was leaving. The stage was open. Is this her next career move?
It certainly seems like it’s going to be the case. After hearing about the in-house gig opening up, she immediately spoke to Susie. Susie then spoke to one of the guys at the strip club. We were left at the end of the episode with Midge smiling.
Is this her future? To be the host and comedian at a strip club? It would certainly be a great spot for her for a running gig. She’s going to need that considering her mortgage needs paying and she needs to afford the bread, milk, and more. It’s not like her parents can really give that much to help when her dad’s paycheck just about covers a couple of eggs.
Could this taint her career, though? Just look at how people view strip clubs now. Think about how they were viewed in the 1960s. However, does it really matter if she can find a steady paycheck in a place where she will pretty much get to say what she wants?
