The 2022 movie stars Sam Claflin as Henry, an uptight English writer. His latest novel is an absolute failure. It isn’t connecting with audiences anywhere.

That is except in Mexico. It turns out that it’s a surprise hit, and so he heads out to the country to promote it. That’s when he finds out exactly why it’s found an audience.

Maria, played by Verónica Echegui, is responsible for that. The Spanish translator decided to do more than just a basic translation. She rewrote the novel as an erotic one, adding the spice that all readers wanted. Of course, Henry is furious about this change.

Henry’s publicist has a great idea. Why don’t the two head out on tour together? This is the best way to keep promoting the book. As with all rom-coms, it turns out that opposites attract. The sparks fly on tour.

I wouldn’t expect this to break ground in the world of romantic comedies. However, when you want something that’s cute and you know how it’s going to play out, this is going to be for you.
