Lord of the Rings series lands official title and storyline details
The Lord of the Rings series on Prime Video is one of the most highly anticipated shows of 2022. We now have an official title and storyline details.
We’re all excited about the Lord of the Rings series. Prime Video surprised us late last year with a premiere date. Why was it a surprise? Well, the premiere date isn’t until Sept. 2 this year! It’s not often that we get a premiere date so early.
Now we get to know the title of the series, along with some storyline details. We still don’t have a teaser or a trailer to work with, but that is sure to come closer to the release date. For now, we’ll take these small bits and pieces of information.
Lord of the Rings series title
The official title of the series is Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The title gives us an idea of what the storyline is going to be about.
The announcement of the title came in the form of an announcement video. This video gives us a look at some of the graphics, making it clear why there is a huge budget available and why it’s taking so long to premiere.

The series is set during the Second Age. The title of the series gives away the initial storyline, and the announcement video also shares a little. It’s all about the forging of the rings.
We’ll get to see the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, as well as the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. This series will also include the tale of Númenor.
While the main movies focused on the One Ring, there were many more before it. The new series is a chance to tell us the epic stories of each of them as darkness spreads across Middle Earth.
