5 best Amazon movies for the weekend

Hotel Transylvania: Transformia

The fourth and final installment of the Hotel Transylvania franchise has been released on Amazon Prime.

This film will show one of Van Helsing’s inventions that turns monsters into humans, and Johnny will be transformed into a creature. It is a race against time as they scramble to figure out how to return to their former selves before it becomes permanent.

Permanent

The film Permanent is a comedy that stars Patricia Arquette and Rainn Wilson, set in the early 1980s.

Aurelie and her family moved to Virginia from Washington DC, where she tries to fit in with the students in her school. She begs her parents for a perm to look like Farrah Fawcett, but it ends in a disaster which only brings her ridicule from the kids in her school. The overall theme is bad hair, adolescence, and a socially awkward family.

Runaway Bride

This is the second film by Garry Marshall that co-stars Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. Runaway Bride tells the story of a reporter (Gere) who does an expose piece on a woman (Roberts) who has left many of her fiances waiting at the altar.

Maggie (Roberts) has had numerous unsuccessful relationships, and she backed out of more than one wedding day. All the events have been filmed, and the tabloids have dubbed her “The Runaway Bride.” Ike, the reporter, wrote a piece about Maggie without checking the facts, which led to him being fired. He then gets an opportunity to redeem himself by being invited to do an article on the bride with actual facts.

Although it didn’t live up to the success of the first film starring the duo, Pretty Woman, it is a fun romantic comedy with checking out.

Heathers

Heathers is a dark comedy teen film that centers around four girls, three named Heather, who are queens of the clique at their school. When a new student and rebel without a cause, JD, comes on the scene in this coming-of-age film, that is when things go dark.

The film focuses on peer pressure, teenage suicide, and cliques with a humorous and very dark twist. The film stars Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty, Lisanne Falk, Kim Walker, Glenn Shadix, and Phill Lewis.

The film flopped at the box office but quickly became a cult classic.

The Secret Life of the Cruise

The documentary The Secret Life of the Cruise takes an inside look at the massive amount of people it takes to keep a cruise ship going.

Go inside and behind the scenes of the MSC Seaside, one of the biggest cruise ships in the world. This film is a 90-minute look onboard a cruise ship that viewers have never seen before. Full of facts that reveal life on board the vessel, this documentary focuses on the technology and complex systems that keep the ship afloat.
