Why The Wheel of Time is one of the best
The Wheel of Time has been one of the most hotly anticipated shows heading to Amazon Prime Video since it was announced back in 2019. It’s based on the epic fantasy series by Robert Jordan, which would go on to be continued by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan’s death to complete the series of books.
There have been some changes to the story. For those who are show-first viewers, the changes won’t even matter. In fact, I’d forgotten some of the details of the books choosing not to re-read them before the series and didn’t really feel like the changes were all that bad. There were some complaints from book-first fans, but that’s always the case with adaptations. You can’t win them all!
The series drives us into a world where only women can harness magic. Men who channel end up going insane, and women are sent out to find those men who are a danger to themselves and others around them.
One woman is sent out to find those who are considered to be the Dragon Reborn. This is someone who could destroy all of humankind or save the entire world depending on the side the person chooses. We’re taken on this journey that sees a group of five people come together only to be split up and experience the world around them as they run from the danger around.
It’s certainly an epic tale to follow. This is one that you’ll want to watch a couple of times to experience it in full.
