Is the Harry Potter reunion coming to DVD and Blu-ray?

The Harry Potter reunion special is now available to stream. Will you be able to add it to your DVD and Blu-ray collection?

There’s no doubt that you made sure your HBO Max subscription was renewed in time for the Harry Potter reunion. Potter-heads around the world have waited patiently to see our favorite trio to return. It may not have been another movie, but it brought us some fun nostalgia at the perfect time.

You don’t necessarily have a HBO Max subscription all the time, though. You want to be able to add it to your DVD collection. After all, you have all the Harry Potter movies!

The Harry Potter reunion may not come to DVD and Blu-ray

It’s hard to say what Warner Bros. is going to do about this reunion special. It is a HBO Max Original, which suggests that it’s not going to head to DVD and Blu-ray. We’ve not seen other HBO Max Originals get a DVD release.

However, this is Harry Potter. The majority of Potter-heads will have the movies on DVD or Blu-ray. You’ll even have the books and all the merchandise available. This became everything to a lot of people in the fandom. There’s no doubt that there’s a market for the Harry Potter reunion to come to DVD.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts probably won’t come to Digital

What we’re not expecting to see is a Digital release. It doesn’t make sense for HBO Max to allow the reunion to head to Digital.

Putting it on Digital would mean people pay just once to own it. They can watch it as if streaming through their Amazon Library—or any other Digital platform. This takes people off HBO Max almost permanently.

The DVD release doesn’t really do this. While people own the Harry Potter movies on DVD, they still look for where to stream them. Streaming is more convenient than setting up the DVD player.
