Will The Unforgivable come to DVD and Blu-ray?

The Unforgivable is one of Netflix’s biggest releases in December. Will you be able to own the Sandra Bullock movie on DVD and Blu-ray?

The great news is that it’s very easy to watch The Unforgivable right now. Sandra Bullock’s latest film is a Netflix Original Movie, which means you can stream it to your heart’s content.

But what if you don’t want to keep your Netflix subscription. You may still want to be able to watch the movie, and that means buying it on DVD and Blu-ray.

Is it possible that this Netflix movie will head to physical disc? Here’s what we know about the release so far.

The Unforgivable won’t likely come to DVD and Blu-ray

We have to prepare for the worst. It’s unlikely that we’ll see The Unforgivable come to DVD and Blu-ray.

Some Netflix movies do get to head to physical shelves. We’ve seen the likes of The Irishman and Marriage Story get the DVD treatment. However, both of these movies also headed to theaters for a short period of time. Most of the Netflix movies you see on DVD headed to theaters for a limited release.

That wasn’t the case with this latest movie. Unless something was added into the contract, it doesn’t make sense for the movie to get a DVD release.

When people buy movies on DVD, they pay once and then own the copy. There is no need to buy ever again. What is the point in paying for the monthly Netflix subscription if that’s the case? Netflix knows this and doesn’t want to lose subscribers so tries to keep the DVD releases to a minimum.

Amazon is the same. You’ll find that the majority of Amazon Originals don’t head to DVD and Blu-ray either. It just doesn’t make business sense.
