When is West Side Story on DVD and Blu-ray?

Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story remake is now out in theaters. When can you get it at home? When is West Side Story on DVD and Blu-ray?

There’s no doubt that there is a debate over whether an updated version of West Side Story was really needed. However, the remake captures the heart of the story and does bring us another beautiful and bittersweet love story.

Now it’s out in theaters, you want to own it at home. For some, it’s because you love the movie so much that you want to add it to your collection. For others, it’s because it’s the only way you’ll watch it as you’re not heading to movie theaters just yet.

We know the movie will eventually head to DVD and Blu-ray. The question really is when that will happen.

West Side Story DVD release date predictions

We don’t exactly have a set DVD release date for the movie. That’s not surprising since it has just been released in theaters. We can look at the distribution studio and make an educated guess based on the DVD releases of other movies from the same studio.

20th Century is behind West Side Story. That’s the same studio as Free Guy and The Last Duel.

It took two months for both of these movies to go from movie theaters to DVD. This could have been a pandemic decision, as 20th Century movies used to take about three months. However, as we’re still in the pandemic, we’ll go with the two movies as a guide for West Side Story.

We’re looking at around Feb. 8 or Feb. 15 as a DVD release date for the movie.

What about on Digital? This has been a couple of weeks before the DVD release date, so we’re looking at toward the end of January right now.
