The Boys Season 3 is not coming to Amazon in December 2021

We’re into another month, and we now know we’re definitely waiting for more of our favorite shows. The Boys Season 3 is not arriving in 2021.

We hoped for a Christmas miracle. However, we’ve now double- and triple-checked the list of Amazon releases in December 2021, and we know The Boys Season 3 is definitely not on the list.

With the likes of The Expanse Season 6 coming out, there’s not all too surprising. Amazon won’t want to release too many big originals at the same time, especially when there’s been a lull of new content due to the pandemic.

We also know that The Boys Season 3 only recently finished filming. The show is now going through the post-production process, and that takes time.

The Boys Season 3 premiere date predictions

Production wrapped in September 2021. We’re expecting about six months for post-production on a series like this. There are a lot of visual effects to add in.

With that in mind, we’re looking at March 2022 at the earliest for the release of the series. This could work, especially now that we know The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 is going to premiere in February 2022. It’s all about spacing out the big shows.

Mrs. Maisel wrapped filming around July. We could see The Boys need a couple of extra months to complete post-production, pushing us into May 2022. This wouldn’t be too bad. We’d rather have the show look great instead of a rushed job on the visual effects.

We are still expecting a weekly release format for the season. It worked so well for the second season, and it’s something Amazon has opted for with a number of big shows. There’s no reason to switch back to the binge model that isn’t the healthiest or best way to consume content, anyway.
