Is Ghostbusters: Afterlife coming to Amazon?

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is now available to watch in theaters. Want to watch it from your home? Can you stream it on Amazon Prime Video?

It’s time to watch the newest movie in the Ghostbusters franchise. This one has the original cast members popping up, and there’s no doubt you want to watch it.

Right now, it’s only out in theaters. Not everyone is comfortable heading to theaters just yet, which means you’re waiting for it to come to a format you can watch in the comfort of your own home. You want to stream Ghostbusters: Afterlife online.

Where exactly can you do that? Will the movie come to Amazon Prime Video?

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is probably not coming to Amazon Prime Video

The bad news is you won’t be able to watch it on Amazon Prime Video for free with your Prime membership. At least, that’s not going to happen right away.

The movie is a Sony Pictures movie. These movies go to STARZ right now. The great news is STARZ is part of the Amazon Channels lineup, so you can get access to the subscription through your Prime membership. It’s likely to head to streaming in about six months.

From 2022, Sony movies are going to Netflix. However, this is for movies released in theaters in 2022 and not the 2021 releases.

What about a Digital release? Eventually, Ghostbusters: Afterlife will head to Amazon Video, iTunes, and other Digital retailers. This is going to be before it heads to a streaming platform. You’ll likely be able to watch it sometime in late January or early February 2022. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the Digital release date.
