The Expanse Season 6 is not coming to Amazon in November 2021
We’re all eagerly waiting to see how our favorite sci-fi series is going to end. The wait continues as The Expanse Season 6 is not coming next month.
If we’re honest, we never expected the show to be on the list of releases on Amazon Prime Video in November. That was even before we got the confirmed release date. November just seemed like such an unlikely month, especially with a big show like The Wheel of Time arriving.
That didn’t stop us double-checking the list. Never say “never,” right? Well, it’s definitely not on there, but this is the last time you have to put up with us telling you that the show isn’t coming to Amazon Prime Video.
The Expanse Season 6 release date on Amazon
During NYCC 2021, we learned that The Expanse Season 6 would arrive in 2021. It premieres in December; Friday, Dec. 10 to be exact.
Like with the release of the fifth season, the show is going to release weekly. We’re not getting a bulk of episodes drop at once, though. This is just like when the show aired on Syfy. It will air one episode per week from the beginning, going into the new year with the final episodes.
It is still the final season of the series. Sure, there are more books, but they see a big time jump. Instead of handling that for the show, production decided to wrap up the story at this point. This doesn’t mean production will never revisit the storylines. There is a chance for movies or maybe even a spin-off to happen, but the series with the current cast is coming to an end.
More disappointing news is the length of the season. It is only going to have six episodes. We kind of expected this with how short filming was, but it is still a blow. We’re sure to get an action-packed season, though.
The Expanse is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned for updates about The Expanse Season 6.
