Is Dune coming to Amazon Prime Video?

Dune is finally in theaters and it’s everything we hoped it would be. Want to watch it at home? Will Dune arrive on Amazon Prime Video?

There’s no doubt we waited for Dune. Fortunately, it’s been worth the wait, bringing us everything we needed and more.

If you’re not comfortable heading to theaters yet, you’ll be looking at where it’s streaming. You can currently watch the movie on HBO Max, but that’s only for 31 days from the theatrical release. The movie will leave the streamer for a while.

It will eventually come to a streaming platform again. This is usually after the DVD and Blu-ray release, but you’ll want to know which streaming platform it’s going to be on.

Dune is not likely coming to Amazon Prime Video

There is some bad news. you won’t be able to stream the series on Amazon Prime Video with your Prime membership. The movie is a Warner Bros. movies, and those movies head to HBO. It will also mean the movie heads back to HBO Max.

This is usually six to eight months after the theatrical release. We’re looking at between April and June 2022 for the streaming release. This is going to be after the DVD release.

Usually, we’d say not to worry about it not coming to Amazon Prime Video because you’d be able to watch it on Amazon Channels. That’s not the case anymore, as HBO has been removed from the Amazon Channels lineup.

This doesn’t mean the movie will never head to Amazon Prime Video. The movies do tend to leave streaming platforms and then head to other streaming platforms. It all depends on who gets the contracts.

The good new is there will be a way to watch Dune on Amazon Video. It will head there on Digital around three months after the theatrical release. We’ll be sure to let you know the exact date when we know it.
